Make a Donation to the Kip Rand AIARE Youth Scholarship!

Give the gift of education to ensure that youth know before they go!  Kip Rand instructed AIARE avalanche education courses for SOLE, and also served as the Director and lead avalanche forecaster for the Wallowa Avalanche Center (WAC).  Tragically Kip was killed by an avalanche in 2016 in the vary mountains that he called home just outside Joesph, OR.  Funds donated to this Youth Scholarship Fund will be specifically ear-marked so youth can participate in AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Education Courses to ensure they are able access these educational opportunities despite financial barriers.

If you a selecting a specific program / participant to donate to please notate that on the check or online form. Also, please remember most donations are tax-deductible.  We recommend that you consult your CPA for specific details.

Make a Donation in the Memory of a Loved One!

SOLE offers several fundraising events throughout the year – both locally and online.  The Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival has become a yearly staple in Sandpoint, Idaho blending great backcountry films which celebrate the human powered experience, coupled with a great silent auction and raffle prizes.  In the future SOLE aims to bring this great event to other locales to share the work we do.  We encourage local, regional, and national businesses and organizations to become an event sponsor by donating money to host the event or donating a good or service for our raffle or holiday silent auction.  It is a great opportunity to market what you do, while making a positive impact on our community and its youth!

Additionally, SOLE participates in the yearly Idaho Gives event.  An annual philanthropy event for the non-profits of Idaho. Contributions and proceeds from these events go to support our continued effort to get youth connected to the great outdoors.
