Interested in our mission and the work we do? There are many ways that you can “take action” to make a difference and help SOLE get youth outdoors! Below are some of the ways that you can ensure this takes place. All contributions are tax deductible! So, whether it’s the end of the year or that special time, please consider supporting our cause!
Other Ways to Donate
Join SOLE’s board at one of our quarterly or annual fundraising events. These community-centered outreach events double to raise essential awareness and funds so families in need have affordable access to the intentional and transormational programs that SOLE offers.
All donations are tax-deductible, we recommend that you consult your CPA for specific details.

Another great way to support SOLE’s dynamic and ever evolving programs. You may contribute shares in a mutual fund, bonds, or publicly traded stock in a corporation. Please contact your tax advisor to determine the value. Your broker may transfer securities directly to Selkirk Outdoor Leadership & Education (SOLE), Inc.

Give the gift of gear, property, technology or more. As a young and upcoming organization we are always looking for in-kind donations that can assist us in furthering our cause. This includes gear for those who come to us in need, technology for our Admin Team, and land to establish field campuses throughout the Inland Northwest to make our programming more accessible.

Other Ways to Give
Are you an outdoor enthusiast, and want to see youth connected in the outdoors? If so, please consider donating your professional skills to SOLE. Many possibilities exist in our office, and in the field, so tell us what you can contribute. Needs include accounting and financial services, website development and maintenance, program development and field instruction, board and committee membership, fundraising event entertainment and event support, and other organizational need.
For any of these volunteer positions or to suggest something else, please contact Dennison Webb at email@example.com or 208.946.6960.
SOLE utilizes proceeds collected from SOLE Experiences SM to provide some financial support to further our cause. While any course we offer provides this potential, SOLE Seasonal Experiences SM are specifically ear-marked to scholarship local area youth. These courses include Wilderness Medicine Experiences, Avalanche Education Experiences, and Leave No Trace Experiences. Learn more about this program here.
SOLE offers several fundraising events throughout the year – both locally and online. The Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival has become a yearly staple in Sandpoint, Idaho blending great backcountry films which celebrate the human powered experience, coupled with a great silent auction and raffle prizes. In the future SOLE aims to bring this great event to other locales to share the work we do. We encourage local, regional, and national businesses and organizations to become an event sponsor by donating money to host the event or donating a good or service for our raffle or holiday silent auction. It is a great opportunity to market what you do, while making a positive impact on our community and its youth!
Additionally, SOLE participates in the yearly Idaho Gives event. An annual philanthropy event for the non-profits of Idaho. Contributions and proceeds from these events go to support our continued effort to get youth connected to the great outdoors.
