SOLE receives noteworthy recognition and grant from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation!

We empower youth to explore, achieve, and lead outdoors."

SOLScreen Shot 2015-01-26 at 3.03.51 PME was recently featured in the Inland Northwest Community Foundation’s Annual Report.  During our second full year of programming (2014), SOLE had the fortunate opportunity to be awarded an Equinox Grant from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation / Equinox Foundation for our Project Vision Experience program with Lake Pend Oreille High School (LPOHS), an alternative high school in the Lake Pend Oreille School District.  This novel experiential education program was underpinned by experiential activities which focused on physical fitness, outdoor science, and character and leadership development.  We are truly grateful for this recognition.  SOLE will continue to work with LPOHS during the 2015 school year by offering Fieldwork Experiences SM which focus on outdoor science in our local environs.   See the Annual Report here.

In addition, SOLE was recently awarded a Community Strategies grant for our SnowSchool Experience SM program.  These funds will provide critical outdoor science equipment and outdoor gear to provide our local area schools a truly unique opportunity to explore snow science and winter ecology in a novel manner.  Learn more about this program by going here.
