Needs include accounting and financial services, website development and maintenance, program development and field instruction, board and committee membership, fundraising event entertainment and event support, and other organizational need.

SOLE utilizes proceeds collected from SOLE Experiences SM to provide some financial support to further our cause. While any course we offer provides this potential, SOLE Seasonal Experiences SM are specifically ear-marked to scholarship local area youth. These courses include Wilderness Medicine Experiences, Avalanche Education Experiences, and Leave No Trace Experiences. Learn more about this program here.
SOLE offers several fundraising events throughout the year – both locally and online. The Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival has become a yearly staple in Sandpoint, Idaho blending great backcountry films which celebrate the human powered experience, coupled with a great silent auction and raffle prizes. In the future SOLE aims to bring this great event to other locales to share the work we do. We encourage local, regional, and national businesses and organizations to become an event sponsor by donating money to host the event or donating a good or service for our raffle or holiday silent auction. It is a great opportunity to market what you do, while making a positive impact on our community and its youth!
Additionally, SOLE participates in the yearly Idaho Gives event. An annual philanthropy event for the non-profits of Idaho. Contributions and proceeds from these events go to support our continued effort to get youth connected to the great outdoors.
